Chapter 1: The Ship Battle
At the end of the last game, the presumed pirate ship was steadily gaining on the Hond Ebrath. Cirilli is in the crow’s nest. Atalaya and Boz are assisting Kyle at the stern ballista. Lonnie, Rogelio, Nevil and Inman are manning the starboard side ballista. Ivar is at the helm. Annie is planning to move between the two ballistas as needed to help get them loaded and fired. Sorrow is standing near Atalaya on the poop deck deciding on what spells and illusions to use.
The pirate ship finally comes within striking distance. They are obviously preparing to attack us. As they approached we loaded both ballistas and have them ready to fire. Atalaya can see the ship’s name, The Siren.
As the Siren gets to within Boz’s shortbow range, he shoots at the sails, hits them and causes 8 points of damage.
Hond Ebrath: Annie comes to stern to give advantage on the ballista shot. Rogelio fires the starboard ballista and hits the sail for 16 points of damage.
Nevil: Help to reload the ballista
Cirilli: Shoots at the sails of the Siren and misses. (Must have been a rough wave swell, moving the crow’s nest more than she adjusted for it.)
Atalaya: 1st arrow: (non magical arrows used in this fight) Critical hit, doing a total of 16 points of damage to the sail.
2nd arrow: hits for 8 points of damage

Siren: A ballista shoots at the Hond Ebrath sails, hits them and causes 8 points of damage. The ship moves close to the Hond Ebrath. A second ballista fires at the Hond Ebrath hitting the sails and doing 21 points of damage to them.
Boz: Assist on reloading the stern ballista.

Cirilli: Shoots and hits Seahawk, 3 points of damage.
Shoots again at Seahawk and fumbles, dropping her bow, but doesn’t fall from the crow’s nest. She moves ½ the way down the mast.

Sorrow: Casts Vickous Mockery (at Captain? Save made? )
Boz: Grabs some rope from his pack and ties up the Captain.
Topper: Jumps overboard (off the Hond Ebrath) and swims off towards the rocks.
Nevil: Offers Seahawk the same out (jumping overboard). “Don’t you want to jump?”
Seahawk: Jumps off the ship and swims after Topper.
Atalaya tugs/shakes the Captain and asks why he was attacking us.
Captain: Is unable to respond, too frightened.
Atalaya, seeing that there is no more combat occurring and no other living pirates on the Siren’s deck, calls to Sorrow and asks him to end whatever illusion the ship’s captain is suffering from.
Sorrow asks if the battle is over. Atalaya says that it seems to be.
Sorrow drops the Phantasmal Killer illusion.
Atalaya does a quick search of the Captain, finding 3 silvery pearls. This places him firmly in the Red Wizards’ employment as far as she is concerned. Atalaya continues to question why he attacked us.
The Captain responds by saying that they are pirates. Attacking and looting ships is what they do, and the Hond Ebrath looked like a good ship to loot.
Atalaya doesn’t believe him. He asks, “What? You don’t think that is what pirates do? Should we be attacking you for some other reason?”
Atalaya agrees that pirates attack and loot ships, but still is not sure that way his only reason to attack us as she looks at the pearls she took from him.
