23 of Eleasis
Darter tells them the repairs will hold till Baldur's Gate, but he is going to need a dry dock to do a permanent repair. So he asks for a lift there as part of the payment.
24th of Eleasis - 26th of Eleasis
Sailing to Baldur's Gate
26th of Eleasis
Eventually, the ship reaches the Grey Harbor of Baldur's Gate. The group discusses lodging and food while the ship is in dry dock. Sorrow knows his way around, but he is extremely concerned about being recognized. He pulls his hood up.
We have dinner at The Elf's Song Tavern. It's an interesting evening and Sorrow is spooked by seeing his cousins Impetuous and Invictus. We hustle him out of there without the cousins noticing him. We spend the night at The Blade and Star Inn. Time is spent playing cards and taking hot baths.
27th of Eleasis
The next morning, Sorrow's luck runs out when he, Inman, and Cirilli encounter Sorrow's cousins, Impetuous and Invictus. A scuffle breaks out in which Sorrow is charmed by one of the cousins and Cirilli pulls out a blade and draws blood on Imp.
2-20-25 27th of Eleasis
The guard arrives and breaks it up. The cousins whitewash what happened to the guards, and one of them tells Sorrow "Umbra is back."
The group agrees to collect the rest of their party and then talk about a public place to meet with the family to discuss this. They settle on the Low Lantern Tavern, but only Vic and Imp show up, and tell Sorrow he was stupid to think his father would ever show up in a place like this.
The group agrees to meet at the Trelanus manor during the afternoon.
On the way to the manor, Inman arranges a stop at the War Wizards headquarters. He talks a bit to Lauren, the War Wizard for the city. They discuss the Red Wizards and their involvement with the issues plaguing the coast, and just basically bring each other up to speed about what's going on. Inman requests, and gets, a note from Lauren that if the group is late returning for a check in, the Red Hand guards will come knocking on the Trelanus door looking for them.
The group meets Sorrow's brothers, Sufferance and Still, and his grandfather, Sombre.
3-5-25 Baldur's Gate Trelanus Manor & at Helm and Cloak
Boz and Sorrow go off to speak to Umbra. After about an hour, a teacup flies into the room and says "The password is Key Lime Pie." Apparently, Sufferance is an artificer. Still takes Nevil upstairs to find the gents and they overhear Umbra and Lady Trelanus arguing. They confront Lady Trelanus just as Vic rounds the corner and fight breaks out. The party manages to overpower Vic and Lady Trelanus and tie them up. The group runs to find Sorrow and Boz.
They encounter a couple of nimblewrights and have to battle them to pass through the hallway guarding a door. The password to get in is "Key Lime Pie." Upon getting the door open, Boz and Sorrow are discovered to be inside, Boz in the throes of a magical curse and writhing in agony on the floor. Inman removes the curse, and Nevil tells Sorrow that Vic is upstairs tied up. Sorrow bolts up the stairs, the party on his heels. Both Sorrow and then Still after he shows up take turning beating Vic to literally within an inch of his life, and possibly farther than that. Still and Umbra flee the house with the party.
The group discusses what the future may hold for the Trelanus siblings.
3-19-25: 27th of Eleasis, 1491 Continued
It comes out that Lady Trelanus sent the succubus to try to seduce Sorrow back into line so he'd come home. The group ask many questions of the siblings, which they answer.
Inman takes some time to go back to the War Wizards and tell them everything they have learned about the Trelanus house goings on. He also tells them to spare Sufferance if they take action against the family. The Hand goes down there and tosses the house.
28th of Eleasis
The next day, Suffrance shows up, looking like he got smacked around a little by his father. He reveals he's a Harper.
Nevil and Inman spend a lot of time talking to the Trelanus siblings.
The boat approaches the town of Skyhorn, but where there should be a lighthouse, there is none. It appears that there was a storm in the area, and the water is treacherous. They find a broken mas that Boz recognizes as having come from Captain Hawk's ship, The Sharalin.
Those on the dock are calling out "water monster!"
The crew docs the ship, as Ivar is unwilling to continue in the dark. They learn that a literally monstrous wave has taken The Sharalin away.
29th of Eleasis
The next morning the group agrees to investigate the dark lighthouse on the nearby island after this is asked of them by the people in town. There is a halfling that is willing to pay us for information about the crew of the Shalin and to pay for the return of the ship's cargo.
We sail across the channel to the lighthouse island. When we get to the door, we discover that the lighthouse has been infected by eel-man humanoids.
4-9-25 The 29th of Eleasis continued
The island and lighthouse are infested with eel men. The party fights their way through them and head up the stairs to the top. They meet the trapped lighthouse keeper, Lucien, who is a druid.) He reveals that there is a bowl underneath the lighthouse that allows the summoning and control of water elementals, which his family has always been tasked with defending.
4-30-25 29th of Eleasis: Saving Hawk and Her Crew
The party heads down to the sea caves underneath the lighthouse. Jammed into a crevasse in the cave wall is The Sharalin. The ship has been looted. The caves lead to a very old ruin which appears to be the original base of the lighthouse. Inside are more ellfolk, survivors from Hawk's ship, and Hawk herself. The eelfolk have taken the pirates prisoner and are in the process of forcing Butcher Boy to use the bowl to call the elemental. The group defeats the eelmen and rescues the pirates.
The people of Skyhorn are very happy to have the light house working and the water elemental under the lighthouse keeper's control again (Lucian). We are treated to dinner in town.
5-14-25
The group discusses the plans for when they arrive at Candlekeep. Ivar docks the ship, and the party, including the Trelanus siblings, walk the remaining difference to Candlekeep.
Ivar sails through the night so that we will reach the landing spot for Candlekeep in the morning.
30th of Eleasis
We arrive at the spit of land where ships area able to approach. Ivar is given one of Atalaya's Sending Stones so that we can maintain contact with the ship. After eating breakfast on board, much to Sorrow's distress, we (The adventuring group plus Sufferance, Still and Umbra) spend most of the day walking to Candlekeep. Everyone is awestruck, but none so much as Inman and Sorrow.
The offered books are mostly accepted, and the party is allowed entrance. They settle in at the Hearth for a good dinner. We learn a bit about Candlekeep, are given housing recommendations and then meet one of their research assistants, Sprig.
The party decides to stay in the Firefly Cellar, a lodging and library beneath the House of Rest. Sufferance, Still and Umbra decide to stay in the House of Rest rather than venturing down into the Firefly Cellar.
