5-1-24; 6th/7th of Eleasis-Skarne and Hawk
The Blade (Skarne's ship) shows up to rescue Skarne. He tells the he does not need rescuing, and lies to get them to sail on without him. This is to protect his crew, and also to show his captors he means what he says about wanting to retire.
The group continues south to Blue Haven, hoping to pick up a few more books to take with them to Candlekeep, in case they need extra ones for their admittance fee. The Countess Olivia is known to have a modest library and might be of help.
They arrive around dinner time. When they get there, they are overjoyed to be met there at the docks by none other than Joan of Gell, a member of Atalaya, Boz, Cirilli, and Sorrow's chosen family and Sorrow's best friend. They spend many hours at the Wind Rose having dinner and catching up with her. Sorrow plays a special song for Nevil requesting and Harper meeting.
Nevil meets with her Harper contact, Shen, the cook at Wind Rose.
7th of Eleasis
Morning:
Breakfast is had onboard the Hond Ebrath.
Atalaya and Boz take Skarne who is helping us find Hawk in town by checking out some of the places frequented by ship crews and are not generally open to the public. Nevil, Ivar and Cirilli go in search of a shipwright. Hawk's ship the Shalarin is located, but not Hawk herself. Inman heads to the Countess' mansion to see if he can visit her library to look for books.
The party sends word to Hawk about meeting and discussing the situation. Nevil and Skarne meet Hawk at a street cafe for lunch with her, Butcher Boy her first mate, and Eliza Agosta her boatswain. She has lost a crewman to the Eye, and wishes to be rid of it in a way that it will not fall into the wrong hands. Nevil and Hawk talk about the Red Wizards and the Eye. Hawk isn't willing to trust Nevil with the information about the Eye. Nevil says that Hawk does know some other members of her group and waves Boz and Atalaya (who are observing from inside the cafe to join them at the outside table. The party comes clean about what's going on with it. Hawk is still unsure. They give her the letter written by the Red Wizards about her. She needs to think about this. Hawk agrees to meet the group for dinner tomorrow night.

Afternoon
After this Nevil, Atalaya and Boz find the Chauntean Temple. Nevil enlists the services of one Mother Bettewhyte to give the all a clean bill of health to make sure there are no residual curses or illnesses among them due to the sea hag and various other mishaps. Nevil and Boz are fine. Atalaya has a geas on her. Atalaya explains the geas that has been placed on her necessitating that she return to Waterdeep to kill the beholder crime boss Zanather once she and her group are skilled enough to do so.
Mother Bettewhyte agree to check through their library for any books that could be used to get us into Candlekeep. We are to return the next day to get any she is able to part with.
Boz is a little worried that they have not seen Sorrow all day as they head over to the countess' manor to look for Sorrow and Inman and to see if she can spare some books. She sells them a three appropriate books for 25 of the silvery slaver pearls and sends them out the an old abandoned estate that contained a library. Inman was present. Sorrow has not been seen.
We return to the Wind Rose asking about Sorrow and Joan. Later, upon questioning Joan about Sorrow's whereabouts, it is discovered that Joan is the shapechanged succubus Pencheska, and Sorrow is in big trouble. They capture her and enlist Nevils' local Harper contact Shen and Mother Bettewhyte for help. Pencheska blinks out, leaving the ropes they'd used to bind her to drop to the floor.
Boz uses his clairvoyance and Skarne's knowledge of Blue Haven to figure out that Sorrow is at Frost's Place, a local den of iniquity and speakeasy. They contemplate their choice for action as they await the arrival of Mother Bettewhyte.
5-29-24; 7th Eleasis Early Evening
Mother Bettewhyte arrives at the Hond Ebrath. They discuss Pencheska and get her ideas about Succubuses. Mother Bettewhyte is asked to stay on the ship as they attempt to rescue Sorrow.
Group goes to Frost's Place. Inman uses his rat familiar, Nigel, to run through the place as a scout. It's a rough place, full of hookers, drunks, various unsavory scumbags, and a lot of orc muscle. They find Sorrow there in a run down room, disoriented, deeply charmed, and very weak. Atalaya hits him on her second attempt with her Wand of Paralysis, feeling the effects of his illusionary fire burning her body and knowing if she doesn't, the demon will have him continue to turn on his friends. A fight ensues, which results in Pencheska narrowly failing to kill Sorrow with a life-drain. They kill her and banish her back to her plane of existence and then get ready to get the hell out of there.

Back at the ship, the party decides to open the book the raven dropped in front of them. It's a journal written by someone who spent a lot of time around a Gurrish tribe. As they look at it, a map falls out. It's a map that goes through an old abandoned town, and ends up at a ruined estate, Chalet Brantifax. This is actually the estate that the Countess suggested they go see if there are any books to salvage.
(As told by Mother Bettewhyte earlier, The story of the estate is that there was a man who had a wife and two children, who died, leaving him in despair. He died himself some time ago and the place fell into ruin.)
9th of Eleasis Morning

9th of Eleasis Afternoon
When the party gets to the abandoned village on the way to Chalet Brantifax, they are set upon by a pack of Feral Boars of Unusual Size. After dispatching them, they salvage as much of the meat and hides as they can. The village itself shows signs of being partially burned at some point in the past. Later, when passing through the area of the map marked "The Scortch of the Red Worm", they find out why. There is a clutch of red wyrmlings in the area that give chase as the group flees.
Upon arrival at the chalet, the party discovers a family cemetery where the wife and the daughters of Lord Brantifax are interred, an empty house that seems mildly haunted, and a library with some salvageable books inside. The sounds of wolves are heard outside.
The house is discovered to be inhabited by a small tribe of Gur, who tells them the wolves have been quite a problem. There is a raven sitting casually a chairback. Turns out, the Gur sometimes camp at the house while they are travelling through. The group is called the Scarlet Sash, and it was one of their number who had the book delivered to them at the bookshop as a way of showing them their good intentions while enlisting their help. Also turns out, the Scarlet Sash is a tribe of wereravens, and the wolves outside are a rival tribe of evil werewolves that the Sash is unable to escape or drive away. They agree to help fight the werewolves in exchange for the Gur teaching Boz.
7-24-24; 9th of Eleasis Night - Scarlet Sash
Turns out, the Sash has a mission: keeping evil artifacts out of the hands of evildoers. Also, turns out the nursery in the upstairs of the house really is haunted, and by an angry poltergeist.
On the other hand, all that pork made for a nice big supper for everyone. So everyone is all well fed and energized when the werewolves attack.
