Chapter 1: The Dragon/Sahuagin Fight
We awaken in Vasilya’s vardo having completed a long rest. The weather is sunny and kind of cool for Flamerule.
We make and eat breakfast and clean up the meal.
Vasilya hitches up his horse, Chakano, to the vardo and he starts heads us back towards Salt Marsh. Atalaya spends time with Nevil in the vardo talking and drawing as well as some time sitting with Vasilya on the drivers box and chatting with him and enjoying the rainfree weather. At midday we stop and rest Chakano and make lunch.
As evening approaches we find a likely camping spot. At this point the road follows the top of the cliff overlooking the coast. We can see a ship pulled into the cove below us. Occasional snatches of the crews voices can be heard on the breeze. Neither Vasilya nor Atalaya recognize the ship.
After a bit they realize that what they are hearing sounds like fighting taking place below us. We do not see any lights on the horizon or signs of a second ship.
Vasilya lies down on the ground at the edge of the cliff to look over it. He tells us that the mast is broken and is laying down in the back, on the poop deck. He sees a hole in the deck.. The ship’s sails have been tied up. They hear guttural sounds. No sounds of swords but they do hear a fight taking place. The ship is not the Tamarind. It is a much better maintained ship than the Tamarind is.
Atalaya recognizes that she has heard this language before, although she has absolutely no idea what is being said. It sounds like the Sahuagin’s language. Atalaya tells Nevil and Vasilya that. We look and listen a bit more before deciding that we have to go down and help repel the Sahaugin. We set up a rope to assist us on the way down and Vasilya heads down it first.
While we are setting this us, two Sahaugin have creep up on us at the top of the cliff.
Sahuagin Claw attacks Nevil. Barnacle attacks Atalaya, hitting her for 3 points of damage.
Atalaya: Swings twice with her longsword. The first swing hits. She also casts Hunter’s Mark (+3).
Nevil Blesses everyone (d4 on attack and saving throws)
Vasilya: hears the commotion and quickly returns to the top of the cliff.
Claw: Sees Boz and attacks. He shoves his spear at Boz and snaps with his mouth. Boz takes ?? damage.
Atalaya: Swipes at Barnacle and kills him and moves up to Claw and swings at him and misses. She moves her Hunters Mark to Claw.
Boz: Using his shortsword he hits and kills Claw. (22 points of damage)
Atalaya, Boz and Nevil look around, expecting more Sahuagin, but do not see any. We make our way down the cliff and to the dingey on the beach. We quickly row to the ship and using the ship’s rope ladder make our way onto the deck.
Nevil climbs the ladder and sees the creatures fighting with the ship’s crew. A few are dead. No one notices Nevil. She gets an “alpha” vibe from “Triton” in the middle of the ship.
Boz: climbs onto the deck and flanks Smasher and attacks him. (sword) for total of 21 points of damage.
Atalaya: climbs up the ladder and moves to __________. She shots 2 arrows at Triton. Both hit, a critical hit on first for 16 points and second hits for 11 points.
Smasher: Attacks Boz. He holds a warhammer which he swings at Boz once, and then again. Both swings miss. He then strikes out with his hand and Boz is able to dodge it.
Nevil: wielding dual shortswords attacks Smasher. 1st hit does 7 points of damage. 2nd hit misses. Second attack, 1st hits for 7 points of damage. Smasher is carved into 2-3 pieces. Nevil advances towards Triton.
Charlie Shark: Is holding a hammer. He moves in towards his target and swings at it and misses.
Boz: Swings his shortsword at Triton and misses. He disengages and moves back by Jenny.
We see a poof of light. We don’t know what that was.
Nevil: Attacks Triton. First attack, neither swing hits. Second attack: First swing misses, 2nd hits for 7 points of damage.
Triton: Fights with a spear. He attacks Charlie Shark. Hits him and nicks him.
Atalaya: Attacks with her longbow at Triton. @ shots, both hit doing 12 and 10 points of damage.
Amphrite: Throws a glowing javelin at Nevil that flies over Nevil’s shoulder.
Jenny: Pulls a hammer off her belt and moves towards Amphrite. It (hammer?) clatters on the deck.
Nevil: Attacks Triton. First attack, First swing hits for 9 points of damage. Second swing misses. Second attack: First swing hits for 5 points of damage and Triton falls to the deck. Second swing: Nevil stands over Triton and rage hits him over and over.
Malki: Slug with Fishgut
Charlie: Flanks Fishgut
Boz: Pulls out shortbow and hits _____________ for 8 points of damage.
The Swede: runs to Amphrite and swings. He hits him and does a little damage.
Nevil: Attacks Fishguts. Following a whirling blur of blades (4 swings, 2 attacks) Fishguts falls to the deck.
Atalaya: shoots 2 arrows at Amphrite for 10 points and 15 points of damage.
Amphrite: Does something. Atalaya feels her muscles freeze momentarily and then she is able to shake the effect off. The Swede is frozen in midswing.
Jenny: moves and pulls hook off her belt and hits Amphrite. Snaps hook around its arm but Amphrite shakes it off.
Nevil: Dashes.
Swede: is imitating a statue
]
Boz: Fumbles his shot.
Charlie: Pitches his hammer at Aphrite and hits him.
Jenny: Tries to fight past Swede using her hook. Connects with the hook and does 5 damage and Amphrite is grappled.
Swede: is still “held”
Atalaya: shoots at Amphrite and kills her. She falls onto the Swedes’ hammer.
The hold spell effect dissipates off The Swede.
All the fighting is over.
Amphrite’s corpse slides off the hammer.
At a sudden commotion we turn and see a Sahaugin running out of a door and is followed by 2 crew members who kill the Sahaugin.
The ship’s crew talks with us.
Atalaya sees Punketha. He seems familiar to her but she can’t place him.
We continue to talk to the crew of the ship. Boz, in Gurrish says “ Sea Ghost.”
Atalaya immediately recognizes the reference to a ship we had an encounter with during our first adventures in Salt Marsh. We extricate ourselves from the ship and climb back up the cliff to the Vardo.
Chapter 2: Meeting Aiko
Once we get to the vardo, Boz explains that he recognizes several of the sailors on the ship as people he “knows” as smugglers.
Vasilya and Atalaya get Chakano hitched to the vardo while Nevil watches the ship. She sees someone climbing the cliff and calls out.
There is a disheveled young girl climbing the cliff (Aiko). When she reaches the top she lays there looking terrified of Nevil.
Finally she gets out, “I came off the ship. They are slavers. I got away.”
Nevil searches her. She has a couple of bent nails. Boz and Atalaya join Nevil and the girl.
The girl says, “I don’t have any of the weapons. I couldn’t get any of the others out.”
Nevil: “How many?”
Girl: “It’s a small hold. There were three other women and another child. I think at least 5 men too.”
When questioned more she doesn’t know where they are taking the slaves. “I think they are affiliated with the Sea Princes. … We were on another boat. I thought it was going to sink.”
Atalaya: “The Tamarind?”
Girl: “Yes.”
(The ship below that she just came off of is called The Dragon.)
We get into the vardo and Boz heads towards Salt Marsh again. Wanting to be away from the ship as quickly as possible, before the girl is missed.
Atalaya and Nevil continue to talk to her with the canvas to the drivers seat open so that Boz can hear as much of the conversation as possible.
We learn that the girl's name is Aiko and that she is from Blue Haven. Two or three weeks ago she was walking home from work, she worked in a pub in that town, when she was taken by slavers. Aiko overheard some talk of Salt Marsh, but no names were used around the captives. She did learn that they were connected to the Sea Princes. (The Sea Princes are a network of smugglers, slavers and pirates.)
Nevil calls out to Boz, asking if he knows anything about someone called “Magrim.” Boz says that he knows that name. He doesn’t have an opinion on that person. He doesn’t know him personally or anything in depth about him. He says that he has family that may know more.
Atalaya gives some Goodberries to Aiko and makes 18 more for tomorrow.
We decide to travel through the night, not wanting to risk being found by the crew of The Dragon looking for Aiko. Vasilya drives for the next 4 hours while Atalaya trances. She then takes over driving the wagon.

Chapter 3: Discussions
We reach the Greenleaf Estate around 11:00 AM. We stable Chakano and go in search of Cirdan, taking Aiko with us. We give a brief description regarding why she is with us. Cirdan and Raven agree to take her in and be sure she can get back to Blue Haven. She is taken off by the women of the household to be cleaned up and given something more suitable to wear.
We continue our conversation with Cirdan. We show him the head we brought back and ask if he can identify it. He does know it. He looks troubled. He tells us that it is a Deep Scion and tells us that they are shapeshifters. He says that he thinks that they were human at one point. He thinks that this one was recently human. He says that the creatures will come back to land to change forms and can look like it is your best friend and then kill you.
We have a larger conversation with Cirdan, Ravin, Cirilli, Sorrow, Vaz, Nevil, and Atalaya. We describe what happened on the trip to Warthalkeel and all about the Storm Giant, Brinecane. We tell them about killing the kraken priests, finding the portal and wonder if we really got it closed.
Then we tell them about the fight with the Sahaugin on the Dragon ship and finding Aiko. We explain to those that have not already heard that The Dragon is a slaver ship.
Raven again says that he will be sure that Aiko gets back to Blue Haven.
We head out to see Captain Eleander at the Constabulary Office to tell him about the Sahuagin and the slavers. (Atalaya feels that the constabulary should/Duke’s men should be responsible for taking out the slavers.)
